Carrier (NYSE: CARR) is partnering with Building Talent Foundation (BTF, www.buildingTF.org) to attract and advance the next generation of HVAC technicians.

Carrier joins BTF’s 20 founding partners as a Scaling Partner, with the goal of striving to support the sustainability of the sector’s workforce.

“There will be an estimated shortage of 400,000 HVAC technicians over the next decade,” said Justin Keppy, President, NA Residential & Light Commercial, Carrier. “Carrier is on a mission to empower the next generation of HVAC technicians. By joining forces with BTF, we can expand our efforts and impact the lives of people in our communities.”

Along with a substantial financial commitment from the Carrier Foundation, Carrier will also be actively involved in BTF’s HVAC Industry-Education Skilled Trades Council. The Council brings together leading HVAC skilled trades employers, educators, and HVAC manufacturers to better align future talent development with industry hiring needs and trends.

“Carrier’s commitment to supporting and investing in the development of its people extends beyond their workforce, to all those who are yet to discover the vast opportunities in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning sector,” says Branka Minic, CEO of BTF. “Together, we will focus on promoting those opportunities and engaging youth and adult job seekers in exploring careers, skill-building, and meaningful employment.”
