WICK BUILDINGS
This attractive structure in northern Wisconsin is designed to be both practical and easy to maintain. The building incorporates a 56’ by 65’ convenience store and a 50’ by 28’ office area. The convenience store features raised lower chord trusses, peaking with just over 12’ of interior height, which gives it an open, welcoming and spacious feel inside.
This structure is engineered for strength, durability, and low maintenance – ideal for handling tough Northern Wisconsin weather. The exterior roof and wall system, featuring Wick’s UL approved steel in Dark Gray Oak pattern on the walls and Crinkle Black on the roof, and Versetta Stone for wainscot, provide a clean and attractive look while standing up to the elements year after year.
There are covered porches at the front and back, along with vented roof overhangs that provide extra weather protection and work with Profile Vent at the ridge cap to manage attic ventilation. Windows and doors provide plenty of natural light and visibility and provide retail customers with easy access.
Designed with clear span trusses, the layout leaves plenty of flexibility for things like offices, storage, break areas, and mechanical spaces. The benefit of no weight bearing walls on the retail side is that the interior space can be reconfigured over time and better able to accommodate changing product display layouts, prepared foods and cool beverages.
The overall structure uses engineered wood columns and roof trusses designed to meet local code requirements for snow and wind loads and sits on a reinforced concrete slab. The 6” batt insulation in the walls and blown-in celling insulation helps control heating and cooling costs. All in all, it’s an solid, attractive commercial building – built to last, easy to work in, and adaptable to different uses.
