Forma Steel
The building is meant to house and showcase a collection of corvettes and motorcycles, plus keep them secure, and provide a space to work on them.
The cedar and wood-tone details, including log beam and posts in the lean-to are the most noticeable of the architectural design elements of this build, but other details also play a part in matching the hobby shop to the primary residence. This includes board and baton siding on the gable and lean-to, woodgrain doors with cedar trims, and stone wainscoting on the front of the building and concrete footings of the lean-to.
Using logs as the posts and beam of the lean-to required some innovative engineering and craftsmanship. Each log lean-to post sits on a concrete footing, and trusses need to be tied into the log beam, rather than a standard dimensional or EWP beam.
